My name is Shelly Sumler and this is my fifth year teaching at Guiding Star Preschool. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Kansas State University....GO CATS!! My husband, Rick, and I have been married for 12 years and we live in Raymore. We have two wonderful children, Lawson, 10 years old, and Lauren, 8 years old--Lawson is in 5th grade at Bridle Ridge and Lauren is in 3rd grade at Stonegate. In addition to teaching, I am PTA President at Stonegate and PTA Vice-President at Bridle Ridge, and I love being able to volunteer at my children's schools. I truly have a passion for teaching, and I love working with young children. It is a joy to share in each child's life and watch their minds at work. It is my mission to engage every child in learning at their level and challenge them to their full potential while preparing them to successfully enter Kindergarten.
